How to Eat Less Than 1000 Calories a Day


If your one day diet contains 1500 to 1800 calories, it means you are on low calorie diet. Normal consumption of calories for adults is not less than 1200 calories a day. You better talk to your physician first before you start thinking about low calorie diets. People often go for the low calorie diet when they want to lose weight. You must know that your body needs certain number of calories to function properly.
 

1- Have you ever counted the number of calories you eat in a day? Counting the calories is not an easy job but still reading labels and a calculator can help you get closer to the correct number.
 

2- What about keeping a food journal? Start recording whatever you eat in a journal as according to a recent research those who keep food journals are likely to eat less as compared to those who don’t. Keep your journal with you wherever you go.
 

3- You better eat the food which are not only low in calories but also make you feel full. Increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables. The best thing about the low calorie food is that they make you feel full longer without adding calories.
 

4- Include fiber rich foods in your diet such as spinach, broccoli, avocado, apple etc. Fiber rich foods make you feel full longer thus keeping you from overeating.
 

5- Stay hydrated which is only possible if you drink plenty of water. Stomach filled with water makes you eat less.
 

6- When you are eating don’t watch T.V because watching television while eating makes you eat more food. Eat your food slowly and chew every bite slowly.
 

7- When you are on low calorie diet, you better avoid engaging in physical activities.

Those who are on low calorie diet are recommended to take multivitamin daily.
 

Important Tip: Low-calorie diets often cause diarrhea, constipation and upset stomach.
